The Sherrie-Ann Gordon Foundation is a nonprofit organization that is deeply committed to providing vital financial, emotional, and social support to young black students in boarding schools. It's essential to understand and address the unique challenges that underserved Black students face when they enter prestigious boarding school settings. These students are incredibly bright and ambitious, yet they encounter significant obstacles, especially related to financial disparities, which can hinder their ability to fully engage in campus life and limit their access to valuable social opportunities. Just to give you an idea, the average tuition for a New England boarding school is approximately $67,000 per year. For students with the highest need, this can be up to 80% or more of their families' pre-tax income.
